Last Sunday afternoon, September 21, 2008, we had our third Kids Fest. It is an outreach in our city park. The Emmons Sisters (www.theemmonssisters.com) played music to attract attention; we also handed out invitations to people in the park. After the crowd gathered we had the puppets do a few songs and a skit. A person, dressed in attire that goes with the Bible lesson, came up and explained the Bible story. We had a craft and games next, then a snack and some group singing. Finally, the puppets came up for a few more songs. We invited folks to attend an inquirers' group called Christianity Explored (www.christianityexplored.org).  The Kids Fest is a great way for the church to serve, meet new friends and share the love of Christ!

We are busy practicing for ministry this fall and the Christmas season. At a recent puppet practice we divided into groups of three and took aobut 15 min. to make up short skits and then present them to the group. It was lots of fun and good practice. Some puppeteers said that they would like to go home and think up a better skit and bring it next time we meet. I can't wait!
